Work on "Earth for Life" Global Fund

Many people are facing the consequences of climate change.  Land are lost and homes swept away by accelerated sea level rise due to melting glaciers.  As the temperature increases due to greenhouse effect, droughts and wildfires are taking away wildlife and their habitats.

We are producing more Carbon dioxide (CO2) than the earth could absorb by the way we are changing the landscape, cutting down trees, mining and burning fossil fuels for industrialization. But before we blame every country for greenhouse gas emissions, let us check out what Bhutan is doing about it.

I like the dream Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, shared on how we can all be carbon neutral together by kickstarting an "Earth for Life" global fund.

Let's us work on making it a reality by sharing his idea.

And if you are curious what "Gross National Happiness" is about, read this book.

A Song of Our Warming Planet

If earth can express its feelings about climate change, this is how it will sound.

Daniel Crawford based his composition on surface temperature data from NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies. The low notes you hear represent the relatively cool years and it ends on higher notes which signify warm ones.

Could you vibrate with what earth is feeling too?

Trees? Sense them.

Yes, Blog Action Day 2009 is over but that shouldn't stop us from talking about climate change.

Climate change and poverty

What has climate change got to do with poverty? Climate change can cause depletion of natural resources, such as, water which can affect soil fertility and this can reduce agricultural yields.

Less supply = Increase in price = Less wealth

It is a cycle of change that we all face in the trap of development. Which cycle are you on right now?

Learn from past solutions.

Through the years, human beings have been experiencing climate change. It happened when they migrate from one country to another or from one state to another. Following are some problems faced by farmers when they moved from Eastern USA to the Plains.

They survived this diversity because there were willing to change and adopt new methods of farming and grow hardy winter variety of Turkey red wheat introduced by Russian-German farmers.

Learn from history. To survive climate change, we have to change our ways.
