The art of recycling for a greener environment starts with seeing trash as "abandoned material" so that we can create "Abundance from the Abandoned" in "Amazing Ways".

Ask to receive what?
Ask and you shall receive. Take a look at this presentation I created to encourage one to start asking questions for solutions.
How does it work? The following presentation will give you an idea.
Now, what is it you want to ask?

When Celia found me.
When Celia Cristina found me. I discovered a flock.
Celia has included a picture of a bag I made for my write up "I’m A Plastic Bag. Eco friendly? Make me!" on her Flickr photostream.
Going through the other photos she has posted there, I am glad she has found me because we are definitely birds of a feather. All the photos she has collected are images of eco friendly creations. So, click on links to photos you are interested in and it will lead you to blogs and websites she found them at. Some of them will lead you to free tutorials.
If you want to be her friend, check her profile and you will find more birds of a feather. I will find time to write her.

Making soft toys? Find free stuffing.
Does this look familiar to you?
They are the fibres removed from corns I have been eating.
They have dried up as I have kept them for a few weeks now. They still look good, doesn't smell and feel soft like cotton fillings for your pillows. If you keep enough, you can use them to stuff soft toys with.
Need pin cushion before you start? Need colour scheme to work on? I have that all covered, of course. Just click on the links for free tutorials.
You can also check out LiveJournal for some ideas of the kind of toys you would like to create. Just remember that the smaller your soft toy is, the more scrap fabrics you can use.
So, can you make a living making soft toys? Mariska did with her cute Fluffels...
and she is sweet enough to provide free tutorial on her blog for creating a Duck.
If you work on it, your profit is most likely higher since you use waste fibre from corn and scrap fabrics, right? Should you hide the fact that you are using waste material? Of course not! After all it may be the reason why they want to buy your toys.
There are people out there who just want to be owners of eco friendly creations.

Demolition waste. Making money from that!
If you live in a developing country, drive around your town or city and you will see old buildings being refurbished or demolished for new development. In fact, if you drive around your neighbourhood, you will see new owners of homes or shoplot renovating their premises. What happen to those chunks of concrete, torn out fittings or tiles?
Find out from this presentation by Saurabh.M Kulkarni posted on SlideShare. Look through it and you will discover what equipment you need to invest in and what you can produce out of demolition waste you can get your hands on.

Before you throw, remember this prayer.
We take things we have like food and water for granted. It used to be that we throw food only when it has gone bad. I remember my grandma removing a moldy part from a piece of bread before she ate it. So, I am comfortable doing the same.
You do not have throw away your loaf of bread on its expiry date if you keep them in the fridge before that date. You can fry french toast with them or put them in the toaster to heat up before eating.
Keep this prayer by Avalok that I discovered on Slideshare to remind you why you should not take good things we have for granted.

Earth is our home.
Food bits that should have been eaten.
Received this in my email today. It may change your mind about discarding those cut out bits and pieces of food.
==============================================================================
From My InBox:
When eating certain food, there are certain parts which seemingly are useless and should be thrown away. In reality, their nutritional value could be higher than the food itself. Check if you have unknowingly wasted these.
Fish Eyes
Fish eyes, especially markeral family, contain rich quantity of DHA and EPA which are very rare unsaturated fatty acid. The most beneficial property of these natural substances are their abilities to stimulate human brain cells, improve memory and thinking power, and also very helpful in preventing memory decline, high cholesteral and hypertemsion diseases. The common notion suggested that eating certain animal parts would strengthen similar body parts of ours, and this has also be proven correct by clinical experiment where fish eyes are concerned: They can help to reduce the deterioration of eyesight.
Fibers of orange or grapefruit peels
When eating oranges or grapefruits, after removing the peels, do not remove all the fibres that stuck on the fruits. In fact, the fibres contained certain vitamin known as 路丁 [(English term?)], which helps to maintain the elasticity and density of the artery wall, which in turn reduces the danger of bleeding especially the fine arteries. Hypertension patients usually have problem of brain haemorage while diabetic patients retina haemorage. For people with tendency to bleed, especially old people with tendency of artery hardening, eating fibres of oranges and frapefruit peels is particularly helpful.
Bones
The nutritional values of bones are higher than that of the meat. Comparing the nutritional values of Pork bones and pork, the bones contain far more protein, iron, sodium and calories than meat. Bones contain 23% more protein than milk powder, 61% more than beef, three time as much as pork and more than double that of eggs. It has abundance of essential minerals that human requires, like 磷脂質 that are needed by the brain, 磷蛋白, 蛋氨酸 for the liver, 氨基酸, vitamins A, B1 and B2, as well as 類粘朊 and 骨膠元 [bone gels?] that are useful for slowing the aging. The best part is, when boiled in soup, its nutritions become more readily absorbed by human body than plant-based food.
Chili Leaves
Chili leaves contains complete range of 蛋白氨基酸 [amino acid?]. almost 4 times compared to the chili fruits. It also contains more than double what chili fruits have of 元素硒 , which are anti-cancerous substance. On top of that, chili leaves are rich in calcium, beta carotene, various vitamins and other nutrients. Eating a suitable quantity of chili leaves enhances secreation of digestive juices, improves appetite and are good for indigestions, gastric and s tom ach discomfort. Regular intake of chili leaves also help in warming body, strengthen liver, improve eyesight, reduce weight and improve beauty. Chili leaves is tasty and can either be cooked alone, frying with meat or making soup.

Cool green designs
Check out these photos of innovative ideas I received in my mail today. If designers keep creating furnishings or gadgets on smaller scale, who needs a bigger home. Let's see what we can save with them.
Less material used = less energy to create = less wastage
Don't let the water drip away. Save it by placing it where the plant needs it.
Small = portable = need not buy for each room.
Don't have to turn on the bathroom or kitchen light with these on.
2-in-1 = one more (function) need less = less space required
I am sure there is less packaging required for these products and...
since they are space saving too, you can deliver more units and save cost on fuel.

Winner of World's Best Presentation Contest 2008
Jeff Brenman won the "World's Best Presentation Contest 2008". He is definitely aware how lack of water will be affecting our environment. Take time to view his points before we reach the stage when thirst becomes unquenchable.
